| I've always preferred to live my life in the background. My family was happy to receive a current photograph of me. It took nearly four years to finally sit for a complimentary photo at Cox Photography Studio. I did it for pregnant teens. I have discovered when you pursue your passion for a cause, like a moth to a flame, you will be thrust into the foreground. I know there are others like me. They have convictions, passions, empathy, dreams and a big heart. They get involved to help by giving in whatever manner they can. As Barbara Bush said, "Giving frees us from the familiar territory of our own needs by opening our mind to the unexplained worlds occupied by the needs of others." There are people I haven't met who have given from their purse strings to help pregnant teens they are likely never to meet. It started with Bruce and Jean Horst of Icologic, Inc., d/b/a as SearchWarp. Their initial contribution to GeoVi's Home for New Life was received long before I posted a picture at SearchWarp. They believed in the mission and vision and desired to help. Since then, Zach, their 18-year-old son has become one of GeoVi's Vision Partners! Bruce and Jean have brainstormed on ways to use their vast outreach to enrich the lives of pregnant teens and their unborn babies. It is difficult to write about this without tears of gratitude and a heart of thanksgiving. A banner of support shows throughout the site. The initial banner was not pleasing to Sue Thom, a fellow Warpie and author. She insisted I create one with better visibility. I did. Many others have given their support with words of encouragement in comments on many of my articles. Recently, I was contacted by Bruce about a PayPal account because an author suggested placing a donation button on the site. The author felt others would probably like to make a donation in support of GeoVi's Home. It's difficult to render me speechless but being choked up with tears did it. This fellow Warpie was correct. Since the optional request for support to GeoVi's Home by donating through PayPal has been on the author sign-in page, we have received donations from the following individuals and businesses: Massive Treasures T.S.C. Enterprises Teresa Ortiz (GeoVi's Vision Partner) Dottson Bando Lora Davids Susan Thom David A. Rolan Tanguay IcoLogic, Inc. (GeoVi's Vision Business Partner) Listed in order of most recent donation to the first donation made from SearchWarp, these individuals and businesses are helping to make a difference in the lives of pregnant teens and their unborn babies. They are giving in spite of the economy and so are others. Last week, an email was received from David and Helen Haidle of Seed Faith Books. They wanted to send children's books to us. I never knew they existed until receiving their inquiry from GeoVi's website. These random acts of kindness and blessings come when the going gets tough and you know you mustn't quit! To all of you for your prayers, encouragement, good thoughts, inspirational articles, donations, and wisdom, I say thank you. On behalf of GeoVi's daughters and grandchildren I never would have had, may God richly bless you. Hands that give also receive. I have attempted to put into words what is only felt by the soul and resides in one's heart."Thank you" are two little words with a huge responsibility. We love saying them at GeoVi's Home! |
